ABOUT US
History of the Club
The Three Counties Vintage & Classic Car Club was formed in October 1994 for the purpose of preserving, restoring, owning and running older vehicles – cars, motorcycles, commercials, military or any vehicle of special interest.
Club Nights
Club Nights are held at 8.00pm on the 3rd Monday of each month at the Hamworthy Sports and Social Club, Magna Road, Wimborne. We normally have entertainment, speakers on such diverse subjects as the A5 Murder, Smugglers of Poole, Wildlife Photography, or Guide Dog Training, film shows such as the Dorset Stour or the River Frome etc etc. The aim is to provide an interesting night out that can accommodate members’ wives, partners and families.
MAIN EVENTS
The club’s main event of the year is Motorcade, our own Classic Car Show, however we organise the large classic vehicle display at the Verwood Rustic Fayre, and the classic display at the New Milton Town Show. The club also attends other classic car events and provides vehicle displays for fetes and fun days.
ROAD RUNS
Road Runs are organized throughout the year, usually based on a Village Hall where tea and coffee are served before the run (usually of about 30 to 40 miles these days), and a 2 course meal is served after the run.
THE PHOENIX
The club’s newsletter, The Phoenix, is currently published monthly in A5 format and can be picked up at club nights, or posted to members (A sample newsletter may be downloaded from the Downloads page). In the current economic climate, postage is a significant burden on club funds, and we ask that members that are not going to be able to attend club nights please donate a book of 2nd class stamps each year.
MEMBERSHIP
Membership is open to all persons – subject to the rules of the Club – who have an interest in or own a vehicle (or vehicles) of the types listed above.
